I honestly found it really difficult to begin this blog. I was torn about writing my experience while shooting behind-the-scenes for this mini-session with my good friend (Ryan Ortega), sharing a little bit of Cedrix proposal or writing some thoughts I’ve been having these past couple of days :P I always wonder why when I am not logged into my Blog, there are a million things I’d like to share but when I’m about to post a few pictures to share, my mind shuts down right away… Any bloggers out there who feel the same? Hahaha!

Lucky is an understatement when describing the circumstances I was in when September started. First off, it signaled the last month that I will have a day job & secondly, one of the best photographers on the planet invited me to join a mini-shoot he offered for our XLOVE Couple. You can read about my post on XLOVE here. What more can a newbie ask for?

Aside from the posing & light techniques I learned that day, I realized I need to learn how to give things a try no matter what the circumstances may be. I clearly remember Jasmine Star telling me by the beach in Malaysia to overcome being intimidated so I will enjoy my craft some more and here I was being asked by Ryan to direct the couple and answering, “I don’t think I can so I’ll just shoot behind the scenes.” That would have been a time where he could have corrected the way I direct my clients but I avoided the feeling of being intimidated or embarrassed so I happily said no even if in my heart I really wanted to. D*&m Me!!! (Sorry)

On a lighter note, after the shoot we headed off to Lantaw in Busay and shared stories. Ryan cheerfully shared shooting different kinds of weddings. We were starstruck when he shared a super extravagant Indian Wedding that he shot. He was so into it he even spoke English in an Indian accent. The highlight of he conversation, however, was Kritie’s story about Ced’s proposal. If Ced was superstitious I wonder what his thoughts were when Kritie brought him to the Hospital on the day he was about to propose!!! Hahahahahahaha :D He must have been really stressed that day… (Right Ced?)

It’s funny how beautiful things appear like obstacles to begin with. As I grew older I now appreciate the beauty of difficulties & trials. Sometimes they are just a little difficult too bear where your heart feels it’s on a roller coaster ride every second but if you stick around longer, you’ll get to appreciate the journey and pick up a few things in the end. I hope & pray my journey towards wedding photography follow the same beautiful path.

Ohhh, I almost forgot. Here are some of the pictures I took on the background. All of them posed by non other than, Ryan Ortega. Thank You Bai for allowing me to share these. Head Crown by Pretty Little Things. Hair & Make-up by Vanessa Gamus.

From the beginning until the end of the shoot, I was amazed at how Ryan paced & directed Kritie & Ced with such a calm and assertive manner….

Starring our favorite color… Guess what? (:
