Karen & Iyoy

Despite going back to a regular 9-5 job back in 2021, I’ve been a little
lucky that a handful of people still ask me for pictures. On top of that,
these are the bunch that do not particularly enjoy being in front of the
camera for prolonged periods. Which means? Well, a little less stress
for you and for me. You know?

Karen & Yoy here, are no exception. From our exchanges over
messenger, our first meeting when we slightly agreed to shoot pre wedding
photos until the wedding, there’s always that hesitation to stand up
in front of the camera for periods.

Nevertheless, we’ve managed to preserve their wedding day in pictures
as best as we can without getting in the way. These photos just took a little
while to collate but I’m glad to finally have the chance to share these.

Ysrael & Keren’s Day

When Ysrael & Keren asked me, at the start of the pandemic, to take
pictures on their wedding day, we didn’t expect we’d all have to wait
3 years for the day to come. I’m not sure, but I guess there were a
few of us who thought everything was going to be OK around June
of 2020 and boy how wrong we all were. Hahaha.

But time, as constant as it has ever been, brought us together for this
wedding back in June and it was nothing short of beautiful. People
who love them both came to celebrated their much awaited union.

I rarely shoot big weddings nowadays but I didn’t mind it at all. I brought
Tim & Jason to help me. Luckily, these two are all for no frills so I came
as a guest and took pictures whenever I felt the need to click.

Ysrael & Keren, Daghan kaayong Salamat!!! Kita-kita ta diha sa Toronto!

Forest School Your Kids

“Hi. I’m Jeff. I’m not an Alcoholic.” were my first words when
we were asked to introduce ourselves yesterday. I left the
city early and drove to Carmen to join the Forest School
Your Kids Workshop. Forest School is to me is allowing kids
to embrace mother nature as their classroom. I kind of figured
out my way to this back in May when one of the bride’s friends
introduced it to me.

I had a great time listening & learning from the teachers
as well as other parents. I actually do not dislike the usual
classroom but I think the idea of allowing the little ones
to freely explore and learn naturally through nature is such
a forgotten thing nowadays with the advent of gadgets, tv, etc.

I cannot wait to bring Coxon and Miggy to one of the classes
one of these days. And as always, I brought a camera with me
and these are some of our pictures.

Like Nothing with Mark & Kate

These days I throw in a little caution when accepting assignments.
Experience has caught up with me and told me to rarely compromise
because the right people will find their way in front of my old
cameras and when they do, it’s going to be beautiful no matter what.

Mark & Kate fetched me on a Saturday and we drove all the way to
Argao with no plans. Luckily, the day blessed us with clouds
which allowed us to mid noon. Lawis was packed but we didn’t mind
too much. After all, we intended to just be.

These pictures are rather late. Nevertheless, I’m glad I still
have time to fill up this blog with ramblings and things.
Thank You Mark & Kate.

Mark & Kate’s Wedding

This year would have been a decade since I started shooting
fulltime. If my memory serves me right, my last day of work
for Aboitiz was around September 27th or 30th back in 2013.
After that it was all pictures, a little bit of travel
and a lot of meeting people, some of whom have become like
family to me.

I think I survived the photography thing with a bit of luck
and maybe better writing than the actual pictures. Nevertheless,
I’m terribly grateful people still ask me to shoot. And by this
time, they pretty much want the same thing. Less pictures :D
Who can get any luckier than that?

It was a little warm and traffic was not so nice during Mark
& Kate’s wedding back in June. Still, like most weddings, it
ended all the same. Two brave souls, going against the odds
and fulfilling what has long been written in the stars for them.

Thank You Mark & Kate for allowing me & Tim to just be.
