Early in January, somebody told me in Instagram that she thought I was a writer
Only to realize, I was actually a photographer
I told her that if I only knew how to take really excellent pictures, I wouldn’t be writing so much.
She ended up asking me to shoot the wedding of her friend.

I first met Sarah before she returned to Australia early in January
I’m just not sure if it was the first time I met a bride and her Mom for a meeting. Hahaha.
Anyway, they told me they didn’t want too much fanfare
Something that deeply resonates with what I’m trying to do

They weren’t really open to a pre wedding session at first
But I told them it would really help the wedding pictures if we have established some sort of connection before hand.
Luckily they agreed and it totally made working on their wedding lighter.

We took so many pictures, as a matter of fact
So narrowing it down to the few ones that represent the day
Isn’t really an easy thing to do to say the least
But I always just try.

Thank You Sevan and Sarah for having us.

I can’t recall the last time we were in Montebello but I’m glad we were back there.
I’m also glad Sarah agreed to a pre wedding shoot. On their wedding day, we already had that casualness going on.
A few details.
I love this mirror at the suite room in Montebello.
Here’s Sevan and his brother, Ashod.
I first met Sevan during our pre wedding shoot a few days back.
He and Sarah are based in Australia. Guess I’ll be seeing them there in November.
A quick brotherly portrait.
The guys just always have it their way, you know?
One of the guests who cheered the guys during the group pictures.
A little walking here and there.
The guys got whiskey glasses from Sevan.
And actually could not wait to try drinking from it.
The bridesmaids turn.
I asked them to stand by a corner full of lush greenery.
One of my favorite pictures from that day.
Here’s Sarah and her Mom helping her out.
We worked with Team Panda Films, it was a blast.
I actually took this after the church because we ran out of time.
I like this corner at Montebello too. Especially during the afternoons.
Sarah’s family.
While Sarah waited outside the church,
Sevan, helped out their son, Samuel, with his barong.
Oooopppsss!
Looking good with that barong, Sevan.
One of the rare times kids get excited walking down that aisle.
Here’s Samuel.
And time for Sarah to walk.
While dad and son waited eagerly.
As a photographer, nothing makes me happier than when a church allows its doors to be closed during the march. It makes pictures look good.
An emotional Sarah’s mom.
The vows.
Sevan and Monsignor Alesna sharing a brief moment after communion.
We have to seal it with a kiss!
On our way back to Montebello, we caught these guys hanging just outside the church.
While the boys had their drink earlier, the ladies opted for an after ceremony celebration.
And then we took some portraits.
While walking of course.
The reception at the glasshouse was really nice.
I loved the lights from the ceiling but more importantly the grapes sitting on the tables. We actually brought home some of them. Thank You Sarah and Sarah’s Mom.
Really beautiful.
Not two, but one!
A few pictures just outside Montebello.
Really happy these two asked me for pictures.
See you down under soon, alright?
Reception time!
The guys cheered on the newly weds.
During their first dance.
Since there were a lot of guest who hailed from other places, there was a mini Sinulog Presentation. Pit Senyor!
I swear this baby was looking at me and asking for a photo.
There were games too! Rock, Paper, Scissors.
I think he sang Achy, Breaky Heart. Hahaha. Cool man!
One of the guests sang Moonriver too. A really cool song if you ask me.
And then we called it a day! A beautiful wedding day.
Here’s an excerpt from the song I used on their wedding slideshow. It is called Let Love In by the Goo Goo Dolls because it’s only Rock n’ Roll or nothing! Thank You Very Much Sevan and Sarah.
